I know astrology has become generalized and overhyped but if you take the time to dig just a smidge, you’ll find the song that never ends. While the mainstream popularity of astrology can be expected to stay; I do recommened a healthy dose of skepticism from people/platforms spewing stereotypes as fact. Astrology is meant to be used as a tool to help you navigate your life the best way possible. There are several types/names, certain systems have more cultural aspects that for some shouldn’t be taken at face value(life & death predictions).
The rabbit hole comes into play when you get into the planetary meanings and the houses they fall under, which leads you to numerology. Then you think back to how the founding of astrology is based on patterns and if you’re into conspiracies you can go down the simulation route(which I won’t). Not only are the signs associated with specific planets(which are associated with days of the week), they’re also associated with colors, crystals(these differ between systems) & numbers(I won’t be diving deeply into that) and can be correlated to the other elements.

TYPES: There are types I haven’t listed, this is just scratching the surface
Western– Also known as Modern/Tropical, newer & based on fixed points but is continually updating, recognizes cusp signs. 
Astrocartography– Said to be the geography to live your best life
Hellenistic– It’s still being translated(dreamwalker936 on Tiktok has soken about it).
Zodiac– 12 Animals rotating, representing a full a year.
Vedic– Also known as Jyotish/Sidereal, known to be used in India, based on the exact placements of the palnets at the exact time and place of your birth.
